HIGHWIRE turns any existing analogue video cable (co-ax) into a high-speed Ethernet connection.Thus the original investment in the cable installation can be retained, even though IP cameras are installed. With HIGHWIRE, Ethernet connections can be up to 350m apart (or longer with RG11 cable) which overcomes a severe limitation (100m) with standard CAT5 cable. HIGHWIRE is not a video codec or any kind of video capture device ??? it is simply a signal conversion unit for ANY type of network device (IP camera, network switch, DVR / NVR, PC etc.) |
